Duration & Appointment Timing
Allow around 120 to 150 minutes for consultation, application and processing. First-time clients should factor in a quick skin test and consultation ahead of the appointment.
Root retouch visits are often quicker than a first full-head tint. Add time if booking a cut and finish in the same visit.
Aftercare & Maintenance
Wait 48 hours before your first wash to let the colour settle. Use colour-safe shampoo and conditioner, plus heat protection when styling. Limit hot water and avoid harsh clarifying shampoos.
Top up roots every 4 to 6 weeks for full grey coverage, or 6 to 8 weeks if your regrowth is slower.
Protect hair from sun and chlorine. A weekly nourishing mask helps keep colour looking fresh and hair feeling soft.

I’ve been getting my hair done at Butler & Lawler for a while now and it is always a great experience. Yvonne is a master or colour, even when it’s growing out it still looks natural, and Debbie couldn’t give a bad cut if she tried, she’s also great with tips on how to manage your hair at home. Yvonne and Debbie are also really good company and conversation flows easily. I don’t know the rest of the staff so well but everyone is polite and friendly. I always get nice compliments about my hair after a visit to Butler & Lawler and can highly recommend the salon.
